Go Go Gocco Go

Outré gallery is hosting a charming and experimental celebration of Gocco printing in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth this month. The exhibition will feature a wide range of local and international artists and also feature a demonstation of the Gocco process.

Characters

After three years of research and writing,  Stephen Banham’s new book, 'Characters: Cultural stories revealed through typography' is out now and available for purchase. The book explores the stories behind the signs that help shape a cities cultural identity, character and history, in this case Melbourne. 272 pages of stunning photography and much undiscovered typographic delights.

There happens to be a reading tonight (Thursday the 15th) with Stephen at the State Library of Victoria Reading Room from 6pm. Although this is a free event you must book on 03 8664 7540.

JustUs Magazine

JustUs Magazine is a quarterly 128 page adventure into paper possibilities; a magazine for print, paper and typography enthusiasts. Issue One is an ode to foiling and embossing with over 10 different stocks utilised, and each page touched with a special treatment. Yum, I can't wait to smell this (paper nerd right here).

What I love about this is the Flourish section which profiles 10 Australian studios, agencies and freelancers in order to keep developing a stronger design community. Not only that, they offer a student section and supplier/classifieds directory. Neat.
