Sheargold
posted in Architecture, Industrial, by Damien Aistrope on 11th October 2011
The Red Bull office in Sydney is definitely one of my favourite 'meeting' experiences to date. A visual overload of light, texture, humour and general sense of fun encapsulated perfectly by Matthew Sheargold - an award winning designer who fluctuates between interior, product and furniture design for the last 17 years. Beautiful products and projects to be explored.
KeepCup
posted in Industrial, Other, by Justin Fox on 04th October 2011
The KeepCup is a barista standard reusable coffee cup, designed and manufactured in Australia to replace disposable cups. Love the idea and the customisation is fun. Apparently coffee shops are starting to give discounts on your daily coffee if you're using one of these. Nice site too.

AIAIAI Competition & Offer
posted in Design, Industrial, INfront, Music, by Damien Aistrope on 02nd May 2011
Australian Infront and AIAIAI have proudly teamed up to bring you guys something truly special. For those unaware - AIAIAI produce incredible headphones, I know this as I bought a pair of TMA-1's earlier this year and love them to bits. Not only do they sound great, they look amazing.
We have come up with two ways in which you can score.
Option 1.
Download this asset pack and write up a blog post about AIAIAI on your own (or your works) website for a chance to win. Write about the design, the sound, the history or the people behind it - do your research have some fun with it.
First prize we have a pair of TMA-1's to give away, second is a pair of Tracks and third place is a pair of the Swirl Ear Buds.
You have until the 18th of May 2011 to enter - just flick win@australianinfront.com.au an email with your blog post link (subject: AIAIAI / Infront Comp) to be in a chance for the running. Winners will be announced on the 19th of May at 10am on Australian Infront.
Option 2.
This is pure awesome. No luck needed.
Ensure you or those within your company are listed on our Directory. Email aiaiai@australianinfront.com.au with the subject 'AIAIAI: YES PLEASE' and your directory profile link in the body of the email and receive 50% off their entire range as an act of intense kindness from AIAIAI. Yep that's right - 50% just for being listed on the Directory!
We will then send you a catalogue for you to buy to your hearts content. All emails must be in by the 18th of May 2011.
Massive thanks to the team at AIAIAI. Too good to be true.

The Secret Life of Things
posted in Education, Industrial, by Justin Fox on 12th August 2010
One for the kids. The Secret Life of Things is a newly launched passion project which includes short animated videos and educational resources on eco-design and life cycle thinking. The first of many animations to come features the story of a little mobile phone who has been abandoned by his owner, and through a past life regression we learn all about his eco impacts and why we should design phones better as well as recycle them.

The Premise
posted in Design, Industrial, Other, by Damien Aistrope on 21st June 2010
Want a chance to design and own your own bar? Thought so. The good people at Drambuie are making this a reality with their new competition 'The Premise'. It's not actually designing the bar, it's more coming up with an awesome idea/concept for one and uploading your notes and reference images (and Cocktails & Dreams has been done already, so think harder).
Think you got what it takes? Check out http://www.thepremise.com.au
