PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To bring the agency’s marketing strategies & campaign tactics to life through inspired design that resonates with the cultural consumer. To broaden the agency’s creative range producing a varied tone & style across collateral. To translate client brand & communications messages through informed art direction, graphic design, illustration, motion graphics, digital & traditional media channels. To manage the development of, & action all relevant design briefs written & verbal to the point of completion. To deploy & activate finished design deliverables upon approval.
The Senior Designer is an integral role within the Creative Department & accountable for the design process in accordance with The Taboo Group workflow. Taboo’s Creative Department is responsible for the translation of marketing strategies & communications plans into campaign collateral that adheres to briefs agreed upon by the Account Director & signed off by the client. The Creative Department is also tasked with the ongoing brainstorming & development of creative strategy, non-traditional tactics & guerrilla marketing ideas.
SKILLS & QUALITIES
- Design trained & experience qualified (min 7 years) in design with 2-3 years, leading projects preferably in a variety of consumer facing industries or products
- Project management capabilities encompassing scope, budgeting, scheduling & milestones
- Deep understanding of global design trends with a working knowledge & understanding of youth culture, music, art & fashion industries
- A track record of high-quality work output through collaboration with others, potentially recognized as an inspirational content leader in design or design related discipline
- Candidates must have strong presentation, verbal & written skills & be effective articulating design vision to clients in an influential manner
- Personal passion for the lifestyle that our brands represent & that our company promotes is key
TECHNICAL COMPETENCY
- Expert level of experience with Photoshop & illustrator
- Solid understanding of Flash CSS & HTML
- Mac OSX environment & standard Microsoft platforms
- Strong typography skills
- Print & web design capabilities: must know how to work in both media for integrated campaigns
- Portfolio must demonstrate working knowledge & design examples
