Help needed to decide on an online course

Posted 23.08.2017 @ 11.27PM

Hi,
I am interested in doing an interior design course but not sure what avenue to take. I currently am a physio working at a university so wanted to fit the study around my work. I know this means I will most likely need to look at an online course. Are these courses still as valid and good as on-campus courses? My plan is to develop my interior design skills so that I could take this on as a part time career when my circumstances change in the future (e.g. have a family, relocation as my partner is in the army). It is something I have always wanted to do and think now is the perfect time for me. I have had a look online and attended a couple of open days and the online courses that seem to fit my requirements and have had positive feedback are:
- interior design institute
- international school of colour and design
- interior design online (part of Sydney design school)

Has anyone had any experience with any of these courses?
I am tempted by the interior design institute as it is a lot more affordable then the others (about $3,000 with all advanced modules included), as I don't think I'm in a position to afford the other courses which are $15,000 plus. However, this also concerns me as I am worried it wont give me enough to pursue a career in interior design. It is not accredited by any Australian agents, but does have accreditation by international companies. Is it worth going down this avenue or would it just be a waste of time? I have read a few comments that stated the level of qualifications isn't the most important thing in interior design, but in fact the work you can produce and how you sell yourself and skills.

Any feedback on these courses or generally about training to become an interior designer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced from a very confused potential designer,
Linz b

Hi ,

There are many options to find any good online platform but important is to find the best and most reliable one among the list of thousands. I trust many USA based interior design academies as their certifications are authentic and approved by several authorities.

In a row of many best design academies, I found

National Design Academy

Think Interior Design Academy Courses World Wide

Pearl Academy Live

Above were most reliable as their certification is approved by WIDA and reliable authorities. I am using their certificate as an identity in this field and getting very good clientele. Someone told me that there are several people search for good and expert answers to get help on Quora. so I decided to join and I am willing to help all of you.

I hope you find this answer helpful.

Thank you
