Cool! This infographic just nailed the basic things about printing. I like the "Commercially Printed Documents Need to Bleed" LOL. I also like how the stock comparison is explained for different kinds of printing from business cards, posters and letterhead printing.

Printing in a nushell!
That really does explain it and I never knew toilet paper was 20gsm.
Go figure:)

There's a big gap between 150 and 250gsm.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
Dan, That's because we don't have much on offer between 150 and 250, plus we were fighting for space. It's more a graphical indicator of size rather than an actual indicator of availability.
Scotty, guess it depends on how many ply you get too? Be curious to see a difference between what you find in public toilets and the cushy Sorbent stuff, hey?
Cheers!

Sorry to take such a low brow slant but I remember this stuff from my youth.
It was used in schools and public toilets and was more like tracing paper than tissue.
I think it was a punishment for not doing a poo at home:)
A bit like wiping your arse on a crisp (chips) packet and the reason that many Brit's are good at "holding it".
Right, info-graphics wasn't it?

i remember that god awful stuff too, from school in london, not so much wipe it off as spread it around
do you remember what gsm it was, definitely 2 sided gloss stock though only came in one sheet size, great for banners, xmas paper chains and pretend bandages when playing doctors and nurses

Hey all,
We've just had a new print infographic constructed for our website, thought you might find it interesting. We set out to communicate some of the intricacies of printing a project commercially in a fun and interesting way, that hopefully may give the reader some insight into the fact that printing a project on a big press isn't quite the same as hitting print on their home machine.

Interested to hear feedback, and also nice to post something up after years of lurking :)
Cheers!
