INfront Jobs: Updated
posted by Zann St Pierre on 30th August 2010We quietly released an upgrade for the jobs section on INfront over the weekend. It is a major improvement over what we had previously and on a whole we are very happy with it.
However, we realise that the most useful information normally comes from our users and we would like a little feedback from you.
Currently we have the following categories:
3d Modeling / Animation / Motion, Advertising, Architecture, Education, Fashion, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Illustration / Artist, Management, Photography, Product Design, Research & Strategy, Sales & Marketing, Web Design, Web Development

Suggestions:
- Development to replace Web Development to allow for more forms of dev.
- What categories do producers, editors, copy writers, seo scientists and administration staff fit under?

Minor critique here...
Jobs list on the right side of the page feels awkward. And with the company logo's as big as they are it makes the page longer than it should be. Scrolling or clicking more than I should is a pet peeve.

@zann Re Web Development, would Digital Development be a neater category?
@scratchy Re Graphic Artist - would that not be covered off by Graphic Design?
I'd also like to find a better category for Art Director / Creative Director roles - would something like Creative Management be better or is this too loose?
Would you guys like the ability to 'send to friend' straight from the site?

Looks great. I think a 'send to a friend' or maybe even a post to twitter/fb type thing would be excellent too.

It's probably a good idea to also add a category for "Interface Design". Something targeting designers who create for web and mobile apps (such as iphone/ipad applications)

imho Graphic Designer and Graphic Artist are two different areas, for example
a website designer is like a graphic designer.
a web developer is like a graphic artist.
however the two areas are fairly closely related, would be interesting to see what other people think.

Tonight we will be adding a new Twitter feed for INfront too so you can see the job posts as they happen (and we don't spam your regular INfront news feed). Follow http://twitter.com/infront_jobs now to get the latest.
