I love to show people the beauty in everyday things through my photography. I love to photograph architecture, interiors, landscape, rural and industrial subjects.
After beginning work as a photographic assistant in 1998 I have never looked back. I love traveling; I love seeing new things and seeing old things in new ways. I like to look at the big picture and the finest detail at a macro level. I am inspired by industry, structures and nature on many levels.
I know it is cliché but I love to photograph ugly and mundane things in a way that makes them look beautiful. I think people rush through life on their way to destinations and are quick to write things off; but I believe if you take the time to really look at things and pay attention to the details their beauty comes out.
So far my work has taken me all over the world and I feel blessed to have seen so many beautiful things. I crave change and newness and photography allows plenty of this, no day is the same, no light is the same and I am constantly in different locations and seeing new places and meeting new people. I also love how much there is to learn along the way.
I enjoy the sense of adventure driving to far away locations in the dark to be there in time for sunrise and when you get the perfect light I always know that there is nowhere else I would rather be or nothing else I would rather do.
Working with the lovely Sam and Celeste Gant from Pot & Pan Culinary Tailoring was great (and not just because I got to eat the food, but a lot because I got to eat the food...). They are amazing at whipping up most delicious and photogenic food whilst making it look effortless. It was truly a pleasure working with these ladies. We set up the day before at their beautiful space so we would have the full day to photograph. Celeste styled the shoot with props they had on hand as well as a few pieces bought in especially and Sam, after an early start at the markets, cooked and plated up all the food. I snapped a few frames, had a taste to see if it was appropriate for photos, then took some more photos, then tasted some more. Ralph the cute pooch was on hand to provide entertainment between shots. Here are some of the results from the day.
