Lorena Mercado

Lorena originally trained as a primary school teacher. She spent time teaching at sevearal public schools in Sydney’s inner west before returning to study IT and Design at Sydney University and teaching at a secondary high school.

In 2008 she set her sights on a career in fashion and retail, and opened boutique and online store “We’re” with husband Damien Aistrope, after relocating to north Queensland.  Since opening the store she has collaborated with others in bringing WeBuyYourKids to Cairns for their first solo art exhibition, organising several music events (Sunday Best series) and creating a local publication featuring a range of artists and writers from across the state.
