Bio
I’ve always been interested in connecting with people. For the past 10 years I’ve been making connections with people in so many different ways, most of them online. For me online was a platform of equality, I could connect with anyone regardless of race, country, time-zones or disability. Being hearing impaired meant that I could see, hear what everybody else was doing. Suddenly I had a platform where I could engage with everybody, it’s no wonder that I ended up working in digital.
As a freelance consultant for the last six years, I’ve worked for numerous agencies in Edinburgh, London, Melbourne, Sydney & Auckland. In Edinburgh I journeyed into the world of SEO to get a casino website number 1 on Google, no mean feat. In London I created the largest digital campaign in the history of Yahoo! with a series of rich media banners that was very broadband friendly. In Melbourne I ate a mountain of Chupa Chups working on the account for three years. In Sydney I helped to launch Virgin Atalantic to the world and in Auckland I’ve taken Toyota into a whole new digital space with their campaign ‘Believe’.
I love digital, who wouldn’t? Just because I’m mostly online it doesn’t mean I never venture into the real world. Get me in for a coffee and a chat and I might even mention social media, Twitter or what I had for breakfast.

Hey dave, as much as I prefer looking at the elephant rather than your ugly mug I won't be comfortable opening up threads if you use that picture. Especially at work. Would you mind changing it to something else?

As a freelancer I loved having my 15" MBP to take onsite. If I had my way I'd get the latest 13" MBP and hook it up to a 2nd monitor.
At work I'm using a 27" imac and I find I can't take it around the office and work wherever I like, which drives me a bit batty.
RE: Value of Designers in Advertising on 09th December 2011 @ 10.45 AM in Discussion
Design is quite highly valued, you've just got to make sure you work with the right people. I tend to work directly with clients but in the past I've worked with Creative Directors and Art Directors with a lot of success.

RE: home printers on 13th January 2012 @ 7.12 AM in Technical
I researched home printers a while back when my inkjet was costing me a fortune.
Ended up buying a HP Officejet 6500 wifi printer. It's a good home printer and if you purchase the XL ink it ends up being quite cheap to run.
