RE: Wordpress theme building redux on 28th November 2011 @ 9.08 AM in Technical

There are no solution for every client.

Custom design, then build is expensive... so existing themes saves a lot of cash.

Also the client can test drive it and confirm that it works for their needs and usually the themes have been through a much more strict testing and debug process than i would go through....

This also supports my focus on updatability etc etc.

There are a lot of cases where the client has complex needs and custom design is the best way

I am seeing responsive is better than split sites for most sites as devises are rapidly evolving .... meaning the 2 versions will become more.

again if the client have complex needs and the budget, go 2 sites and regularly upgrade the theme but for a simple site this is a big overhead...

i am moving more to use existing themes and design around that.. there are a few great responsive themes that have a lot of smatrts to them...

RE: Environmentally Friendly Printers - vegetable dyes & recycled papers on 09th November 2011 @ 8.56 AM in Help

there are some printers doing great work in minimising impacts.. finsbury green are an example

I believe it is up to the designer to design more creative approaches to the "need" to print, recommending alternatives and minimising the need to print and then using a good printer

a lot of the "need" to print in peoples heads and not needed at all...
